VIDEO: Thirst In The City

Did you know that 663 million people live without a safe water supply close to home, making them spend countless hours queuing or trekking to distant sources and coping with the health impacts of using contaminated water?

The Sustainable Development Goals, launched in 2015, include a target to ensure everyone has access to safe water by 2030 and making water a key issue in the fight to eradicate extreme poverty.

In this short radio documentary, I will tell why this goal seems like a mirage for residents of Kpankyredor, a community located in Ghana’s capital, Accra.

All five thousand people here have no access to potable water and they share a polluted pond with cattle.
